Privacy Policy

Version: Revize 3 · Last Updated: [date] · Effective Date: [date]

1. Introduction

Glynd ("Glynd", "we", "our", "us") is a location-based professional networking platform for digital craft professionals — designers, developers, product managers, and similar creators and creative technologists — to connect, collaborate, and discover opportunities. For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, the data controller is Rabbit Hole Teknoloji Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi, MERSİS No 0733121239400001, Esentepe Mah. Keskin Kalem Sk. Arya Plaza No:17 İç Kapı No:2, Şişli, İstanbul, Türkiye. Contact: privacy@glynd.app. By creating an account or using Glynd, you acknowledge you have read and understood this Policy.

2. About Glynd

Glynd is a professional networking and community platform. It is not a dating service and is not intended to facilitate romantic matching. Users connect for networking, collaboration, learning, and community-building.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

  • Contact information: name, email address, and (if you use phone verification) phone number.
  • Profile information: profile photo, biography, professional expertise, occupation/industry, spoken languages, city and country.
  • Professional and social links: LinkedIn, Instagram, GitHub, Behance, portfolio or other websites you add.
  • Content you submit: direct messages, group messages, event titles/descriptions, comments, coworking-space suggestions, profile updates, and other user-generated content.
  • Subscription information: subscription status and transaction identifiers for purchases made through Apple In-App Purchases (payment card data is handled by the app store and not stored by Glynd).
  • Communications with us: support requests and feedback.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

Device information (type/model, OS and version, app version, language, time zone, device identifiers); log information (IP address, timestamps, login activity, diagnostic data, crash reports, error logs); and usage information (features used, screens/profiles/events viewed, session activity and interactions).

3.3 Location Information

Location is central to Glynd's discovery features. With your permission, we collect precise (GPS-based) and/or approximate location while you actively use the Services in order to show nearby people, events, and coworking spaces, calculate approximate distances, and improve local recommendations. We do not collect location continuously in the background when the app is not in active use, and we do not maintain a historical database of your movements. Your precise GPS coordinates are never displayed to or shared with other users — others may see only your selected city, your approximate distance, and your presence within a broader grid area. In remote or sparsely populated areas, an approximate area may still allow others to infer your general location; by using location features you acknowledge this. You can hide your location/profile at any time using Snooze / Hide, or disable location permissions in your device settings (some features may then be unavailable).

3.4 Sign-In and Information From Third Parties

If you sign in via Apple, Google, or LinkedIn, we receive only the information you authorize that provider to share (such as name, email, profile photo, and public profile information), subject to your settings with the provider.

3.5 Cookies, SDKs, and Tracking Technologies

Our app and website use SDKs, device and advertising identifiers, and similar technologies for analytics, performance, attribution, and security (see the providers in Section 8, including session-analytics tools such as UXCam). On Apple devices, where we or our providers would track you across other companies' apps or websites, we request your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt and will not engage in such tracking if you decline. Where required by law, non-essential analytics and session-replay are used only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

4. How We Use Your Information

To create/maintain your account and authenticate you; provide functionality (nearby people, events, messaging, groups, networking); process subscriptions; send service notifications; provide support; improve, analyze, troubleshoot, and secure the Services; detect and prevent spam, abuse, and fraud; protect user safety; conduct moderation and (where offered) verification (Section 5); enforce our Terms; and comply with legal obligations. We may use aggregated and anonymized information for analytics and improvement.

5. Content Moderation, Safety & Verification

To maintain a safe and professional community, Glynd may use automated systems, AI/machine-learning tools, image-analysis technologies, keyword detection, human review, and trusted third-party providers to detect, prevent, investigate, and enforce against: spam and fraud; fake or impersonation accounts; harassment, bullying, stalking, and threats; scams; sexual exploitation or abuse; child sexual abuse material (CSAM); non-consensual intimate imagery; violent, graphic, or extremist content; illegal activity; and other violations of our Terms or Community Guidelines.

Content that may be reviewed includes profile information, profile photos and uploaded images, direct and group messages, event titles/descriptions, comments, and user reports. We do not routinely monitor private communications in real time; human review is generally limited to content that is reported, flagged by safety systems, or otherwise necessary to investigate safety, security, legal, or policy concerns. Authorized employees, moderators, contractors, and service providers acting on our behalf may access relevant information strictly for these purposes and under confidentiality obligations.

We do not use private messages, uploaded content, or personal information to train third-party AI models unless expressly disclosed in a future update to this Policy and, where required, with your consent.

Identity Verification. To protect users and maintain trust, Glynd may offer account-verification features. Verification methods may include profile authenticity checks, account-history reviews, social-profile verification, email verification, phone-number verification, fraud-prevention checks, and other reasonable measures designed to confirm account legitimacy and reduce abuse. Glynd does not currently use identity-document review, selfie verification, liveness detection, or other biometric identity-verification services. If we introduce such methods in the future, we will update this Policy to provide additional information and, where required by law, obtain your explicit consent. Verification information is used solely for account authenticity, fraud prevention, safety, security, legal compliance, and enforcement purposes.

6. Profile Visibility and Community Features

Because networking is core to Glynd, certain information may be visible to other users depending on your settings and subscription: name, profile photo, biography, professional expertise, city, languages, professional/social links, and public activity. When you view another user's profile, we may record that interaction; certain profile-view insights may be offered as premium features. We may display approximate distances between users; precise GPS coordinates are never shared with other users.

Automated decision-making. Automated tools may flag content, but Glynd does not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing; where required by law, meaningful human review and safeguards apply (see Section 15).

8. Analytics, Infrastructure & Service Providers

We use trusted providers who process information on our behalf, only as necessary and under data-protection obligations:

  • Supabase — backend infrastructure, database, authentication, file storage.
  • Mapbox — maps, geolocation, distance and nearby-discovery features.
  • OneSignal — push notifications (device identifiers, notification tokens, engagement data).
  • RevenueCat — subscription management and IAP infrastructure (subscription status, transaction IDs); payment processing is handled by Apple.
  • Mixpanel — product analytics and usage insights.
  • UXCam — product analytics, session replay, and usability/crash diagnostics; session recordings are used for product improvement, not to monitor individual users.
  • Moderation/verification providers — automated and human-assisted safety, content-moderation, and (where offered) verification services, under confidentiality obligations.

As Glynd evolves we may engage additional providers (infrastructure, analytics, fraud prevention, moderation, support, communications, verification) and will update this Policy where required.

9. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may share information:

  • With other users — profile information per your settings/subscription; precise GPS coordinates are never shared.
  • With service providers — under contract, only on our instructions and for the purposes in this Policy.
  • For legal compliance — to comply with laws, court orders, or governmental requests.
  • For safety and protection — to detect/prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and Terms/Guideline violations, and to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
  • In business transfers — in a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset sale, with the successor bound to handle data consistently with this Policy.
  • Aggregated/de-identified information — that cannot reasonably identify you, for analytics and improvement.

10. International Data Transfers

Glynd is established in Türkiye. To provide the Services, your information may be processed, stored, or accessed in other countries (including the EU and the United States) by us and our service providers. Where required by applicable law, we implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers — including standard contractual clauses and other legally recognized mechanisms — and apply, for transfers out of Türkiye, the cross-border regime under the KVKK. By using Glynd, you acknowledge your information may be processed in countries with different data-protection laws than your own.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms, and protect platform safety and integrity:

  • Account information: while your account is active.
  • Messages and community content: while your account is active and as long as necessary to provide the Services and maintain conversation history.
  • Analytics and log data: only as long as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, and analytics.
  • Verification information: retained only as long as reasonably necessary for account authenticity, fraud prevention, safety, security, legal compliance, and enforcement, after which it is deleted or anonymized where feasible.
  • Banned-user identifiers: a limited set of identifiers may be retained to prevent banned users from re-registering and to protect community safety (legitimate interest).
  • Rejected-applicant signals: where an application to join Glynd is declined, we may retain a limited set of signals (such as a perceptual hash of the submitted profile image, a hashed email, and device signals) to identify and reduce repeat low-quality or abusive applications. These signals are used only for that purpose, are kept for a limited period (e.g., up to 12 months), and rely on our legitimate interest in community quality and abuse prevention.
  • Backups: residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being overwritten or deleted.

Account deletion. You can request account deletion at any time in the app via Settings > Account > Delete Account, or by contacting privacy@glynd.app. On deletion: your account becomes inaccessible immediately; personal information is scheduled for deletion from active systems; certain information may be retained where legally required or necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement. Personal identifiers (such as your name and profile photo) in past direct messages and community content will be removed or anonymized where technically feasible, while preserving conversation integrity for other users.

12. Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including: encryption in transit (TLS); encryption at rest where supported; secure authentication and access controls; role-based access restrictions for personnel and providers; security monitoring, logging, and incident response; and infrastructure/application security practices. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction and applicable law (including the GDPR, the Turkish KVKK, Indonesia's PDP Law No. 27/2022, and Thailand's PDPA), you may have rights to: access; correction; deletion; data portability; restriction of, or objection to, processing; and withdrawal of consent at any time where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@glynd.app; we may verify your identity and will respond within the time required by law.

Right to complain. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in your jurisdiction (for example, your local EU/EEA data protection authority, the Turkish KVKK Board, the relevant Indonesian authority, or the Thai PDPC).

14. Data Breach Notification

If a personal-data breach occurs, we will assess it without undue delay and, where required by applicable law, notify the relevant supervisory authority and affected individuals within the timeframes required by law, and take appropriate steps to investigate, mitigate, and remediate the incident.

15. Automated Systems and Recommendations

Glynd may use automated systems to provide recommendations and to enhance safety (detecting spam, fraud, fake accounts, prohibited content, and Terms/Guideline violations), considering factors such as profile information, location, interests, activity history, and reports.

Onboarding and account approval. Access to Glynd is curated. During onboarding we use automated checks to validate the information you provide (for example, whether your portfolio, profile, or domain links are reachable), to detect fraud and security signals, and to prioritize and route applications for review. These automated steps do not, by themselves, decide your application — membership approval and rejection decisions are made through human review, and rejected applicants may submit one appeal. Accordingly, Glynd does not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing; where required by law, meaningful human review, the ability to express your view, and the right to appeal apply.

16. Children's Privacy

Glynd is intended only for individuals 18 or older; eligibility is confirmed at registration and under-18 sign-up is not permitted. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and if we become aware that someone under 18 has created an account or provided information, we will remove the information and terminate the account. We prohibit the use of the Services for any activity involving child sexual abuse, exploitation, grooming, trafficking, or other harm to minors. Accounts engaged in such activity may be permanently suspended and reported to the appropriate authorities where required by law, consistent with our zero-tolerance CSAM policy (Section 5).

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may modify this Policy in accordance with applicable law. We will update the "Last Updated" date and publish the revised version in the Services; for material changes we may also notify you by email, in-app message, or other reasonable means.
